The team behind the project:

The 12  retired blacksmiths that are working on the Vølund Senior steamroller, are all members of "The Senior Club" at the union "METAL"  in Esbjerg. The Club was started in 1980, with 33 members. To day the number of members has rissen to 170. The purpose of the Club, is to join senior members of Metal and with meeting,  "get-to-gethers" & excursions. Excursion covers anything from fishingtrips, visits at local companies, bus-trips, lectures, holydays, parties & bingo. Some of the members are working at the local Lightskip museum in Esbjerg during the sommer time.

Through the years has Babcock & Wilcox Vølund opened there doors to the workshop for  the members of Senior Club. Therefore was it obvious that the senior club should participate in this project.

At the Christmas party at 28th november, the team had found Henry Pedersen (center of the picture). Henry Pedersen have hinself driven steam rollers in the around 1950, and he could tell a lot about engines.

Members of the team Are: Poul Christensen, Hans Meldgård, Knud Nielsen, Harry Hansen, Svend Erik Kristensen, Henning V. Lauersen, Willy Pedersen, Per B. Thomsen, Egon Mosgård, Preben Hansen & Egon Pedersen.
